Why “thinking is the enemy?” It’s part of something a little longer that Ray Bradbury once wrote: “Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things.” For anyone interested in reading some more about what Mr. Bradbury had to say about writing and creativity, I’d recommend his excellent Zen in the Art of Writing.
